Cafe Owner

I run a small local cafe and love the idea of giving something back to my community. I want to use my education to include a few ideas I’ve had for ages but was never sure how to do it really well.

First I want to start a holiday work experience program for local school leavers wanting to get work experience with customer facing and also admin like basic book keeping. Hopefully it’ll help them land their first job!

Secondly I want to set up a once-a-month gathering for our senior citizens (we are next to a retirement village) so they have a safe convenient place to get out and about to meet and socialize. I’m not sure of the best way to structure & roll this out but I’m sure my Beaumont education can help me make it a success.

REBECCA

College Student

Hi, I’m in my second year of college studying business with a major in finance. While they have a few marketing subjects I want to know more so I thought Beaumont was perfect to add additional skills to my degree (Double Degree yah!). But I also want to give back too!

As a student ambassador I already do mentoring for new students and tutor assisting for students with special needs. But I want to take it further. I want to use my Beaumont studies to learn how to setup and run a student community to help high schoolers get into college. At the moment I just help through my own college but I want to crowd source others like me and set up our own hub. I know from my marketing subjects that I need this but my finance major doesn’t really teach me this.

Thanks so much.

DEION

Web Designer & Consultant

Hey There,

I went to art college and only ever did design all my life. But I want to do more now that I’ve been doing this for over 10 years and become a business advisor to my clients as well.

But I thought this was also a great way to start giving the kids in the neighborhood internships as well because a lot can’t all go to college. I already know a lot of businesses I can reach out to and I figure I can teach a lot of what I learned over the years to the kids. And with Beaumont I can learn and teach a whole lot more.

This is a great scheme and I hope my idea can be part of it. Thank you.
